The pituitary gland or hypophysis is a small gland about 1 centimeter in diameter or the size of a pea. It is nearly surrounded by bone as it rests in the sella turcica, a depression in the sphenoid bone. The gland is connected to the hypothalamus of the brain by a slender stalk called the infundibulum.
पिट्यूटरी ग्रंथि या हाइपोफिसिस एक छोटी ग्रंथि है जिसका व्यास लगभग 1 सेंटीमीटर या मटर के आकार का है। यह लगभग हड्डी से घिरा हुआ है क्योंकि यह रीना टरिका में टिकी हुई है, स्पेनोइड हड्डी में एक अवसाद है। ग्रंथि मस्तिष्क के हाइपोथेलेमस से जुड़ी होती है, जिसे एक पतले डंठल से कहा जाता है जिसे इन्फंडिबुलम कहा जाता है।
