Explanation / व्याख्यात्मक विवरण :- 

According to Malthusian theory of population, population increases in a geometrical ratio, whereas food supply increases in an arithmetic ratio. This disharmony would lead to widespread poverty and starvation, which would only be checked by natural occurrences such as disease, high infant mortality, famine, war or moral restraint. / जनसंख्या के माल्थुसियन सिद्धांत के अनुसार, जनसंख्या ज्यामितीय अनुपात में बढ़ती है, जबकि खाद्य आपूर्ति अंकगणितीय अनुपात में बढ़ती है। यह असामंजस्य व्यापक गरीबी और भुखमरी की ओर ले जाएगा, जिसे केवल प्राकृतिक घटनाओं जैसे कि बीमारी, उच्च शिशु मृत्यु दर, अकाल, युद्ध या नैतिक संयम से ही रोका जा सकता है।
