हल्क पानी में अघुलनशील है और पानी के साथ मिश्रित होने पर एक विषम मिश्रण बनाता है। चूंकि चाक भारी होता है, इसलिए जब इसे कुछ देर तक बिना हिलाए छोड़ दिया जाता है तो यह मिश्रण के तल पर जम जाएगा। इस प्रकार, चाक पाउडर से पानी को अवसादन, छानने और छानने से अलग किया जा सकता है। / halk is insoluble in water and forms a heterogeneous mixture when mixed with water. As chalk is heavier, therefore it will settle at the bottom of the mixture when it is left undisturbed for sometime. Thus, water can be separated from chalk powder by sedimentation, decantation and filtration.
