Just as a circuit breaker automatically breaks the circuit in the event of a fault, similarly a fuse is also a type of protective device that breaks the circuit in the event of a short circuit, overloading when connected in a series of circuits. Generally, a fuse is a small piece of metal that is connected in series to the circuit, if the current flows in the circuit more than a certain value, then the fuse melts and breaks the circuit, called a fuse. OR "That protective device which is connected in series order of electric circuit to protect cables and equipments against high current is called fuse." BENEFITS OF FUSE IN CIRCUIT It breaks the circuit without making any sound in case of heavy short circuit. It automatically brakes the circuit. The small size of the fuse element is suitable for breaking the circuit. Operation time is minimum.
जिस तरह से सर्किट को circuit breaker, fault की condition में अपने आप break करता है उसी प्रकार fuse भी एक प्रकार का सुरक्षात्मक उपकरण है जो circuit के series में संयोजित करने पर short circuit, overloading की condition में circuit को ब्रेक करता है। सामान्यत: Fuse एक धातु का छोटा-सा टुकड़ा होता है जो circuit के श्रेणी क्रम में जुड़ा होता है यदि circuit में एक निश्चित मान से ज्यादा करंट flow होती तब fuse पिघल कर circuit को break कर देता है, fuse कहलाता है। OR “वह protective device जो उच्च वैद्युत धारा के विरुद्ध केबिलों तथा उपकरणों की रक्षा के लिये वैद्युत परिपथ के श्रेणी क्रम में संयोजित किया जाता है फ्यूज कहलाता है।” CIRCUIT में FUSE लगाने के लाभ · यह heavy short circuit की स्थिति में बिना आवाज किये circuit को break करता है। · यह circuit को automatic ब्रेक करता है। · Fuse element के छोटे साइज circuit को break करने के लिये उपयुक्त होता है। · Operation time न्यूनतम (minimum) होता है।
