As per Articles 310 and 311, the gazetted officials of the Union Government are appointed and dismissed in the name of the President. Besides, the President appoints important officials, such as the judges of the Supreme Court and High Courts, election commissioners, the Comptroller and Auditor General of India, members of UPSC, etc. / अनुच्छेद 310 और 311 के अनुसार, केंद्र सरकार के राजपत्रित अधिकारियों को राष्ट्रपति के नाम पर नियुक्त और बर्खास्त किया जाता है। इसके अलावा, राष्ट्रपति महत्वपूर्ण अधिकारियों की नियुक्ति करता है, जैसे कि सर्वोच्च न्यायालय और उच्च न्यायालयों के न्यायाधीश, चुनाव आयुक्त, भारत के नियंत्रक और महालेखा परीक्षक, यूपीएससी के सदस्य आदि।
