The headquarters of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is located at Mumbai, Maharashtra. Initially, the headquarter of RBI was in Calcutta (Now Kolkata) but in 1937 it was permanently moved to Bombay (now Mumbai). The RBI commenced its operations on 1 April, 1935 during the British Rule in accordance with the provisions of the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934. / भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक (RBI) का मुख्यालय मुंबई, महाराष्ट्र में स्थित है। प्रारंभ में, RBI का मुख्यालय कलकत्ता (अब कोलकाता) में था, लेकिन 1937 में इसे स्थायी रूप से बॉम्बे (अब मुंबई) में स्थानांतरित कर दिया गया था। आरबीआई ने 1 अप्रैल, 1935 को ब्रिटिश शासन के दौरान भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक अधिनियम, 1934 के प्रावधानों के अनुसार अपना संचालन शुरू किया।
