28. If the cost of 2 tables and 3 chairs is Rs. 500, then find the cost of 8 tables and 12 chairs ? / यदि 2 मेज और 3 कुर्सियों का मूल्य रु. 500 है, तो 8 मेजों और 12 कुर्सियों का मूल्य ज्ञात कीजिए?

1. Rs. 2200

2. Rs. 2000

3. Rs. 3000

4. Rs. 1800

Answer / उत्तर - Rs. 2000

explanation  / स्पष्टीकरण :-

Let the cost of a table and a chair be Rs. x and Rs. y respectively

Now, according to question

2x + 3y = 500 ----(i)

and we have to find the value of 

8x + 12y

Now, if we do (i) × 4, we get 

4 × (2x + 3y) = 4 × 500

⇒ 8x + 12y = 2000

Hence, the price of 8 tables and 12 chairs is Rs. 2000
