Mission Indradhanush is a government of India initiative to ensure full immunization of all children in India.It aims to immunize all children under the age of 2 years, as well as all pregnant women, against seven vaccine preventable diseases of diphtheria, whooping cough, tetanus, poliomyelitis, tuberculosis, measles and Hepatitis B.

“Mission Indradhanush” was launched on December 25, 2014, the Good Governance Day, to bring all children under the immunization cover of the Union Health Ministry, Government of India. Reflecting the seven colors of the rainbow, Mission Indradhanush aims to vaccinate children who are not vaccinated or partially vaccinated by 2020 to prevent diphtheria, mucus, tetanus, polio, tuberculosis, measles and hepatitis-B. . This program will be carried out through special campaigns to rapidly increase complete immunization of children by 5 percent or more every year.

In the first phase, 221 districts have been identified in the country, in which 50 percent children have not been vaccinated or have been partially vaccinated. These districts will be targeted to improve the status of regular immunization. The ministry says that out of 201 districts, 82 are from only four states—Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan—and in 42 districts of four states, 25 percent children have not been vaccinated or have been partially vaccinated. .

मिशन इंद्रधनुष भारत में सभी बच्चों का पूर्ण टीकाकरण सुनिश्चित करने के लिए भारत सरकार की एक पहल है। इसका उद्देश्य 2 वर्ष से कम उम्र के सभी बच्चों के साथ-साथ सभी गर्भवती महिलाओं को डिप्थीरिया, काली खांसी, टेटनस के सात टीके से बचाव योग्य बीमारियों के खिलाफ टीकाकरण करना है। पोलियोमाइलाइटिस, तपेदिक, खसरा और हेपेटाइटिस बी।

भारत सरकार के केंद्रीय स्वास्थ्य मंत्रालय सभी बच्चों को टीकाकरण के अंतर्गत लाने के लिये “मिशन इंद्रधनुष” को सुशासन दिवस के 25 दिसंबर,2014 अवसर पर प्रारंभ किया गया। इंद्रधनुष के सात रंगों को प्रदर्शित करने वाला मिशन इंद्रधनुष का उद्देश्य उन बच्चों का 2020 तक टीकाकरण करना है जिन्हें टीके नहीं लगे हैं या डिफ्थेरिया, बलगम, टिटनस, पोलियो, तपेदिक, खसरा तथा हेपिटाइटिस-बी रोकने जैसे सात टीके आंशिक रूप से लगे हैं। यह कार्यक्रम हर साल 5 प्रतिशत या उससे अधिक बच्चों के पूर्ण टीकाकरण में तेजी से वृद्धि के लिए विशेष अभियानों के जरिए चलाया जाएगा।

पहले चरण में देश में 221 जिलों की पहचान की है, जिसमें 50 प्रतिशत बच्चों को टीके नहीं लगे हैं या उन्हें आंशिक रूप से टीके लगाए गए हैं। इन जिलों को नियमित रूप से टीकाकरण की स्थिति सुधारने के लिए लक्ष्य बनाया जाएगा। मंत्रालय का कहना है कि 201 जिलों में से 82 जिले केवल चार राज्य-उत्तर प्रदेश, बिहार, मध्यप्रदेश तथा राजस्थान से हैं और चार राज्यों के 42 जिलों में 25 प्रतिशत बच्चों को टीके नहीं लगाए गए हैं या उन्हें आंशिक रूप से टीके लगाए गए हैं।
