Abhijit Vinayak Banerjee ; born 21 February 1961-  is an Indian-born naturalized American economist who is currently the Ford Foundation International Professor of Economics at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Banerjee shared the 2019 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences with Esther Duflo and Michael Kremer "for their experimental approach to alleviating global poverty".He and Esther Duflo, who are married, are the sixth married couple to jointly win a Nobel Prize / अभिजीत विनायक बनर्जी (जन्म 21 फरवरी 1961) एक भारतीय मूल के अमेरिकी अर्थशास्त्री हैं जो वर्तमान में मैसाचुसेट्स इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ टेक्नोलॉजी में अर्थशास्त्र के फोर्ड फाउंडेशन इंटरनेशनल प्रोफेसर हैं। बनर्जी ने "वैश्विक गरीबी को कम करने के लिए अपने प्रयोगात्मक दृष्टिकोण के लिए" एस्थर डुफ्लो और माइकल क्रेमर के साथ आर्थिक विज्ञान में 2019 नोबेल मेमोरियल पुरस्कार साझा किया। वह और एस्थर डुफ्लो, जो विवाहित हैं, संयुक्त रूप से नोबेल पुरस्कार जीतने वाले छठे विवाहित जोड़े हैं
