His first wife was the sister of Prasenjit (son of king of Koshala) who was also contemporary of the Buddha./बिम्बिसार हर्यंक वंश के थे। उसके अधीन मगध साम्राज्य प्रमुखता से आया। वे बुद्ध के समकालीन थे। उन्होंने विवाह सम्बन्धों द्वारा अपनी स्थिति को मजबूत किया। उनकी पहली पत्नी प्रसेनजीत (कोशल के राजा का पुत्र) की बहन थी जो बुद्ध के समकालीन भी थे।
