Pulakeshin II (610-642 CE) is the most famousruler of the Chalukya dynasty.The Aihole inscription describes how the mighty Harsha lost his harsha (joy) when he suffered the ignominy of defeat. Pulakeshin entered into a treaty with Harsha, with the Narmada River designated as the border between the Chalukya Empire and that of Harshavardhana. /पुलकेशिन द्वितीय (610-642 ई.) चालुक्य वंश का सबसे प्रसिद्ध शासक है। एहोल शिलालेख में वर्णन किया गया है कि जब शक्तिशाली हर्ष को हार का अपमान झेलना पड़ा तो उसने अपना हर्ष (खुशी) खो दिया। पुलकेशिन ने हर्ष के साथ एक संधि की, जिसमें नर्मदा नदी को चालुक्य साम्राज्य और हर्षवर्द्धन के बीच की सीमा के रूप में नामित किया गया था।
