Types of of carbon / कार्बन के प्रकार

(1) ऐन्थ़्रसाइट(Anthracite) - यह सबसे उच्च गुणवत्ता वाला कोयला माना जाता है क्योंकि इसमें कार्बन की मात्रा 80 से 95 प्रतिशत तक पाई जाती है। यह कोयला मजबूत, चमकदार काला होता है। इसका प्रयोग घरों तथा व्यवसायों में स्पेस-हीटिंग के लिए किया जाता है। / It is considered to be the highest quality coal as the carbon content in it ranges from 80 to 95 percent. This coal is strong, shiny black. It is used for space-heating in homes and businesses. (2) बिटुमिनस (Bituminous)- यह कोयला भी अच्छी गुणवत्ता वाला माना जाता है। इसमें कार्बन की मात्रा 77 से 80 प्रतिशत तक पाई जाती है। यह एक ठोस अवसादी चट्टान है, जो काली या गहरी भूरी रंग की होती है। इस प्रकार के कोयले का उपयोग भाप तथा विद्युत संचालित ऊर्जा के इंजनों में होता है। इस कोयले से कोक का निर्माण भी किया जाता है। / This coal is also considered to be of good quality. The amount of carbon found in it ranges from 77 to 80 percent. It is a solid sedimentary rock, which is black or dark brown in colour. This type of coal is used in steam and electric powered energy engines. Coke is also manufactured from this coal. (3) लिग्नाइट (Lignite)- यह कोयला भूरे रंग का होता है तथा यह स्वास्थ्य के लिए सबसे अधिक हानिकारक सिद्ध होता है। इसमें कार्बन की मात्रा 28 से 30 प्रतिशत तक होती है। इसका उपयोग विद्युत ऊर्जा उत्पन्न करने के लिए किया जाता है। / This coal is brown in color and it proves most harmful for health. The amount of carbon in it ranges from 28 to 30 percent. It is used to generate electrical energy. (4) पीट (Peat)- यह कोयले के निर्माण से पहले की अवस्था होती है। इसमें कार्बन की मात्रा 27 प्रतिशत से भी कम होती है। तथा यह कोयला स्वास्थ्य की दृष्टि से अत्यधिक हानिकारक होता है। यह घरेलू ईंधन मे काम आता है / This is the stage before the formation of coal. The amount of carbon in it is less than 27 percent. And this coal is very harmful from the point of view of health. It is used in domestic fuel
