Explanation / व्याख्या :-

In 1787, Warren Hastings wasimpeached in the Parliament by Edmund Burke and the Whigs for his administrative excess. Burke brought forward 22 charges against him. The most important of them were related to the Rohilla War, the Case of Nanda Kumar, the treatment of Raja Chait Singh of Banaras and the pressures on the Begums of Oudh. After a long trail which lasted till 1795, Warren Hastings was completely acquitted. He received pension from the Company and lived till 1818./1787 में, एडमंड बर्क और व्हिग्स द्वारा वॉरेन हेस्टिंग्स पर उनकी प्रशासनिक ज्यादती के लिए संसद में महाभियोग लगाया गया था। बर्क ने अपने ख़िलाफ़ 22 आरोप लगाए। उनमें से सबसे महत्वपूर्ण रोहिल्ला युद्ध, नंद कुमार का मामला, बनारस के राजा चैत सिंह के साथ व्यवहार और अवध की बेगमों पर दबाव से संबंधित थे। 1795 तक चली लंबी सुनवाई के बाद वॉरेन हेस्टिंग्स को पूरी तरह से बरी कर दिया गया। उन्हें कंपनी से पेंशन प्राप्त हुई और वे 1818 तक जीवित रहे।
