The Battle of Plassey was fought in North Eastern part of India on 23 June 1757. Troops of the British East India Company, led by Robert Clive, came up against the forces of Siraj-ud-daulah, the last Nawab of Bengal, led by Mir Jafar, and his French allies. The battle became famous because it was the first major victory of British and it was a major turning point in the history of India. The battle continued for 7 years (1757-1763), and finally, Siraj-ud-Daulah got defeated and assassinated by British deceit from his commander in chief Mir Jafar, whom Clive lured to give the position of the Nawab.
प्लासी का युद्ध 23 जून 1757 को भारत के उत्तर पूर्वी भाग में लड़ा गया था। रॉबर्ट क्लाइव के नेतृत्व में ब्रिटिश ईस्ट इंडिया कंपनी की सेनाएँ, मीर जाफ़र के नेतृत्व में बंगाल के अंतिम नवाब सिराजुद्दौला और उसके फ्रांसीसी सहयोगियों की सेनाओं के खिलाफ़ आईं। यह लड़ाई इसलिए प्रसिद्ध हुई क्योंकि यह अंग्रेजों की पहली बड़ी जीत थी और यह भारत के इतिहास में एक बड़ा मोड़ था। यह लड़ाई 7 वर्षों (1757-1763) तक जारी रही और अंततः सिराजुद्दौला को उसके सेनापति मीर जाफर द्वारा ब्रिटिश धोखे से पराजित कर दिया गया और उसकी हत्या कर दी गई, जिसे क्लाइव ने नवाब का पद देने का लालच दिया था।
