Hartog Committee was constituted in 1929 under the leadership of Philip Hartog to measure the growth of education in India.

It had following recommendations.

→ Fixation of the duration of primary course to 4 years.
→ Improvement in the quality training, status, pay, service condition of teachers.
→ Adjustment of school hours and holidays to seasonal and local requirement
→ Main emphasis of matriculation level

भारत में शिक्षा के विकास को मापने के लिए फिलिप हार्टोग के नेतृत्व में 1929 में हार्टोग समिति का गठन किया गया था।

इसकी निम्नलिखित सिफारिशें थीं।

→ प्राथमिक पाठ्यक्रम की अवधि 4 वर्ष निर्धारित करना।
→ शिक्षकों के गुणवत्तापूर्ण प्रशिक्षण, स्थिति, वेतन, सेवा शर्तों में सुधार।
→ मौसमी और स्थानीय आवश्यकता के अनुसार स्कूल के समय और छुट्टियों का समायोजन
→ मैट्रिकुलेशन स्तर पर मुख्य जोर
