The Santhal Revolt took place in 1855-56. Santhals were a tribal group concentrated in the state of Jharkhand. This was the first peasant revolt that occurred in India. The Santhals formed their own armies composed of peasant marching against their oppressors. This revolt was headed by 4 brothers of Murmus clan-Sidhu, Kanhu, Chand and Bhairav.

संथाल विद्रोह 1855-56 में हुआ था। संथाल झारखंड राज्य में केंद्रित एक आदिवासी समूह थे। यह भारत में हुआ पहला किसान विद्रोह था। संथालों ने अपने उत्पीड़कों के खिलाफ़ मार्च करने वाले किसानों से बनी अपनी सेनाएँ बनाईं। इस विद्रोह का नेतृत्व मुर्मुस वंश के 4 भाइयों- सिद्धू, कान्हू, चांद और भैरव ने किया था।
