Dara Shikoh was the eldest son of Shah Jahan. He had the title of Shah Buland Iqbal: He was a follower of the Qadri Sufi Mulla Shah Badakhshi. Dara Shikoh himself had translated the Sanskrit texts Upnishad, 'Bhagawad Gita' and Yog Vasishta into Persian.
दारा शिकोह शाहजहाँ का सबसे बड़ा पुत्र था। उसे शाह बुलंद की उपाधि प्राप्त थी इकबाल: वह कादरी सूफी मुल्ला शाह बदख्शी का अनुयायी था। दारा शिकोह ने स्वयं संस्कृत ग्रंथों उपनिषद, 'भगवद् गीता' और योग वशिष्ठ का फ़ारसी में अनुवाद किया था।
