India's first military rebellion started on 10 May, 1857 from Meerut. The rebels of Meerut reached Delhi and on 12 May, and captured Delhi and declared Bahadur Shah II the emperor of India and the leader of rebellion. On 3 July 1857 Bakht Khan was declared as the main leader of the rebellion and Bahadur Shah II gave the title of 'Saheb-e-Alam Bahadur' to the Bakht Khan. Bakht Khan was Subedar of the British army in Bareilly was the leading rebel sepoys in Delhi.
भारत का पहला सैन्य विद्रोह 10 मई, 1857 को मेरठ से शुरू हुआ था। मेरठ के विद्रोही दिल्ली पहुँचे और 12 मई को दिल्ली पर कब्जा कर लिया और बहादुर शाह द्वितीय को भारत का सम्राट और विद्रोह का नेता घोषित किया। 3 जुलाई 1857 को बख्त खान को विद्रोह का मुख्य नेता घोषित किया गया और बहादुर शाह द्वितीय ने बख्त खान को 'साहब-ए-आलम बहादुर' की उपाधि दी। बख्त खान बरेली में ब्रिटिश सेना के सूबेदार थे और दिल्ली में विद्रोही सिपाहियों का नेतृत्व कर रहे थे।
