Explanation / व्याख्या :-

The Treaty of Alinagar was signed on 9 February 1757 between Robert Clive of the British East India Company and the Nawab of Bengal, Sirajud-Daulah. The treaty restored Calcutta to the East India company with its privileges and permitted the fortification of the town and the coining of money. The treaty was named after the short-lived title given to Calcutta by Siraj after his capture of the city.

अलीनगर की संधि 9 फरवरी 1757 को ब्रिटिश ईस्ट इंडिया कंपनी के रॉबर्ट क्लाइव और बंगाल के नवाब सिराजुद्दौला के बीच हुई थी। इस संधि ने कलकत्ता को ईस्ट इंडिया कंपनी को उसके विशेषाधिकारों के साथ वापस कर दिया और शहर की किलेबंदी और मुद्रा के निर्माण की अनुमति दी। इस संधि का नाम शहर पर कब्जा करने के बाद सिराज द्वारा कलकत्ता को दी गई अल्पकालिक उपाधि के नाम पर रखा गया था।
