The Battle of Plassey was held on 23rd June 1757 on the banks of Hooghly River in Nadiya district. It was fought between East India Company and Sirajud-Daulah, the Nawab of Bengal. In this the leadership of Clive led to victory of British and Nawab got defected. The contemporary Mughal ruler was Alamgir II.
प्लासी का युद्ध 23 जून 1757 को नदिया जिले में हुगली नदी के तट पर हुआ था। यह ईस्ट इंडिया कंपनी और बंगाल के नवाब सिराजुद्दौला के बीच लड़ा गया था। इसमें क्लाइव के नेतृत्व में अंग्रेजों की जीत हुई और नवाब दलबदल कर गया। समकालीन मुगल शासक आलमगीर द्वितीय था।
