The Quit India movement is also called the August Revolution. On 8th August 1942, Mahatma Gandhi gave a final call to end the British rule and launched the Quit India Movement at the session of All India Congress committee in Bombay (Mumbai). Gandhiji gave the slogan "Do or Die" in his speech delivered at Gowalia Tank Maidan now popularly know as August Kranti Maidan and the britishers arrested the main leaders of revolt under "operation zero hour" and Gandhiji was kept into Aaga Khan Palace, Pune.
भारत छोड़ो आंदोलन को अगस्त क्रांति भी कहा जाता है। 8 अगस्त 1942 को महात्मा गांधी ने ब्रिटिश शासन को समाप्त करने का अंतिम आह्वान किया और बॉम्बे (मुंबई) में अखिल भारतीय कांग्रेस समिति के सत्र में भारत छोड़ो आंदोलन की शुरुआत की। गांधी जी ने गोवालिया टैंक मैदान (जिसे अब अगस्त क्रांति मैदान के नाम से जाना जाता है) में दिए गए अपने भाषण में "करो या मरो" का नारा दिया और अंग्रेजों ने "ऑपरेशन जीरो ऑवर" के तहत विद्रोह के मुख्य नेताओं को गिरफ्तार कर लिया और गांधी जी को पुणे के आगा खान पैलेस में रखा गया।
