Explanation / व्याख्या :-

On 1st November, 1858 by the declaration of Queen Victoria, Lord Canning was appointed as the first Viceroy of India. Lord Canning was the one who made decision that after the death of Bahadur Shah II his heirs won't be deemed to be a king. During his tenure Widow Remarriage Act (1856) & Indian Penal Code (1861) were formulated and established respectively.

1 नवंबर, 1858 को महारानी विक्टोरिया की घोषणा के द्वारा लॉर्ड कैनिंग को भारत का पहला वायसराय नियुक्त किया गया। लॉर्ड कैनिंग ही वह व्यक्ति थे जिन्होंने यह निर्णय लिया कि बहादुर शाह द्वितीय की मृत्यु के बाद उनके उत्तराधिकारियों को राजा नहीं माना जाएगा। उनके कार्यकाल के दौरान क्रमशः विधवा पुनर्विवाह अधिनियम (1856) और भारतीय दंड संहिता (1861) तैयार और स्थापित किए गए।
