Explanation / व्याख्या :-
Peasants of Kheda district were in extreme distress due to failure of crops and their appeal for the remission of land revenue were being ignored by British government. Though they were entitled to full remission under land revenue code. In case if less than 1/4th of normal production, after Gandhiji intervention Government passed a resolution and order to collect revenue only from rich peasants.
खेड़ा जिले के किसान फसलों की विफलता के कारण अत्यधिक संकट में थे और भूमि राजस्व की छूट के लिए उनकी अपील को ब्रिटिश सरकार द्वारा अनदेखा किया जा रहा था। हालांकि वे भूमि राजस्व संहिता के तहत पूर्ण छूट के हकदार थे। सामान्य उत्पादन के 1/4 से कम होने की स्थिति में, गांधीजी के हस्तक्षेप के बाद सरकार ने केवल अमीर किसानों से राजस्व एकत्र करने का प्रस्ताव और आदेश पारित किया।
