Explanation / व्याख्या :-

Jallianwala Bagh massacre is a dark chapter in the history of British India. About 103 years ago on April 13, 1919 British officer General Dyer opened fire on the crowd present at Jallianwala Bagh in Amritsar, Punjab. In this massacre, more than thousand people were killed and more than 1500 were injured. On being sad with the incident Ravindra Nath Tagore returned his title of Knighthood.

जलियाँवाला बाग हत्याकांड ब्रिटिश भारत के इतिहास का एक काला अध्याय है। लगभग 103 साल पहले 13 अप्रैल, 1919 को ब्रिटिश अधिकारी जनरल डायर ने पंजाब के अमृतसर में जलियाँवाला बाग में मौजूद भीड़ पर गोलियाँ चलाई थीं। इस हत्याकांड में हज़ार से ज़्यादा लोग मारे गए थे और 1500 से ज़्यादा घायल हुए थे। इस घटना से दुखी होकर रवींद्र नाथ टैगोर ने अपनी नाइटहुड की उपाधि वापस कर दी थी।
