Explanation / व्याख्या :-
Lord William Bentinck was the first Governor-General of India from 1828-1835. He made several efforts regarding social, educational legal and administrative changes. In 1829 along with the help of Raja Ram Monan Roy, he banned the Sati System.
लॉर्ड विलियम बेंटिक 1828-1835 तक भारत के पहले गवर्नर-जनरल थे। उन्होंने सामाजिक, शैक्षिक कानूनी और प्रशासनिक परिवर्तनों के संबंध में कई प्रयास किए। 1829 में राजा राममोहन राय की मदद से उन्होंने सती प्रथा पर प्रतिबंध लगा दिया।
