Rabindranath Tagore was poet, writer, composer, philosopher, social reformer and painter. He got the Nobel Prize in Literature for his book 'Gitanjali' in 1913. Tagore was awarded a Knighthood by King George V in 1915 but Tagore renounced it after the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh Massacre. National anthem of India–'Jana Gana Mana' and national anthem of Bangladesh 'Amar Sonar Bangla' are the compositions of Tagore.
रवींद्रनाथ टैगोर कवि, लेखक, संगीतकार, दार्शनिक, समाज सुधारक और चित्रकार थे। उन्हें 1913 में उनकी पुस्तक 'गीतांजलि' के लिए साहित्य का नोबेल पुरस्कार मिला। टैगोर को 1915 में किंग जॉर्ज पंचम द्वारा नाइटहुड से सम्मानित किया गया था, लेकिन 1919 के जलियांवाला बाग हत्याकांड के बाद टैगोर ने इसे त्याग दिया। भारत का राष्ट्रगान- 'जन गण मन' और बांग्लादेश का राष्ट्रगान 'आमार सोनार बांग्ला' टैगोर की रचनाएँ हैं।
