The President has the power to summon and prorogue either House of Parliament or to dissolve Lok Sabha. When the term, dissolution of Parliament is used, it only means the Lok Sabha, the House of the People, the Lower House of Parliament. Parliament comprises the President, Lok Sabha, and Rajya Sabha, the Council of States, the Upper House. The first and third have fixed terms of five and six years respectively, the Lok Sabha has a term of five years but can be dissolved earlier./राष्ट्रपति के पास संसद के किसी भी सदन को बुलाने और स्थगित करने या लोकसभा को भंग करने का अधिकार है। जब संसद को भंग करने का शब्द इस्तेमाल किया जाता है, तो इसका मतलब केवल लोकसभा, लोक सभा, संसद का निचला सदन होता है। संसद में राष्ट्रपति, लोकसभा और राज्यसभा, राज्यों की परिषद, उच्च सदन शामिल हैं। पहले और तीसरे सदन का कार्यकाल क्रमशः पाँच और छह साल का होता है, लोकसभा का कार्यकाल पाँच साल का होता है लेकिन इसे पहले भी भंग किया जा सकता है।
