(d) winds are catabatic/हवाएँ अपचयी होती हैं

Vertical wind shear is defined as change of horizontal wind direction and/or speed with height, as would be determined by means of two or more anemometers mounted at different heights on a single mast. Flash flooding occurs when it rains rapidly on saturated soil or dry soil that has poor absorption abilityऊर्ध्वाधर पवन कतरनी को ऊँचाई के साथ क्षैतिज हवा की दिशा और/या गति में परिवर्तन के रूप में परिभाषित किया जाता है, जैसा कि एक ही मस्तूल पर अलग-अलग ऊँचाई पर लगे दो या अधिक एनीमोमीटर के माध्यम से निर्धारित किया जाएगा। अचानक बाढ़ तब आती है जब संतृप्त मिट्टी या सूखी मिट्टी पर तेज़ी से बारिश होती है जिसमें अवशोषण क्षमता कम होती है
